$500 Million Sunken Treasure
A court decision has determined a sunken treasure found by US treasure hunters in the Atlantic Ocean, to be from the from the Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes, a Spanish frigate sunk by a British squadron off Cape St Mary, Portugal, in October 1804. The precious haul, including 594,000 silver and gold coins, was found by Odyssey Marine Exploration from the US in 2007. Now the treasure will have to be returned to Spain.
